The Texturing Process

I have learnt now that texturing an object is possibly the most time consuming part of making 3D assets.

The first step for texturing is unwrapping UV's. This involves taking apart each objects uv, and compiling each face with a given axis. when the proccess is complete. the UV's need to be complied and made into a UV page. This UV page will be what is needed for projecting textures onto an object.

The second step is creating a texture page. This is done by altering a UV page in Photoshop  and adding specific textures to the projections of the UV faces. (sounds really complicated but i will upload both UV pages and texture pages.)

The third Step is adding the texture into Maya, and altering the texture's, shadow effects, color intercity and Eccentrically  to desired effect.

Bouns Steps: bump mapping. This is something i havent started yet as i will need to use the computers at university to use. Requires: creating Diffuse map, normal map, and height map of textured UV page. Then importing these different maps into crazy bump to add bumpy effects to objects.
